What the free check does
Format and typos
Catches broken addresses and suggests fixes for mistyped domains (gmial.com → gmail.com).
Domain and mail server
Checks the domain exists and has a mail server (MX). Dead domains are marked invalid.
Throwaway, role and duplicates
Flags disposable domains, shared inboxes like info@, and duplicates, including Gmail dot and +tag copies.
The free check does not log in to mail servers, so it cannot tell whether a mailbox exists. Addresses that pass are marked unconfirmed, not "verified".
